Lima Symphony Presents “Musically Speaking:”A Multi-Media Performance on Tchaikovsky


Lima, OH (October 24, 2023) – The Lima Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Andrew Crust present a multi-media performance on Tchaikovsky’s life and works: Musically Speaking on November 4 at 7:30 PM at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center (7 Town Square, Lima, OH 45801). This program features a full performance of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony as well as a comprehensive presentation by Andrew Crust on the composer and this piece.


Considered one of the most acclaimed composers of the 19th century, Tchaikovsky is best known for his Nutcracker Suite, Swan Lake, 1812 Overture, and of course, his masterful symphonic works. Among his symphonies, Symphony No. 5 remains as a treasured work among music-lovers internationally.


Beginning the program, our maestro will discuss Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 through audio and visual components. The Lima Symphony Orchestra will demonstrate by performing several recognizable excerpts of Symphony No. 5. It is true that a deeper appreciation for music can be developed through gained knowledge. With this newfound knowledge and appreciation of Tchaikovsky and his symphony, Maestro Andrew Crust will lead the Lima Symphony Orchestra through the full Symphony No. 5 in E minor.
